Recess Inn Proceeds:
Proceeds from this event will go towards the upkeep and historic preservation of this incredible 1909 school building. We were able to tuckpoint (fix the mortar between bricks) in most needed spots this year and plan to continue in coming years. Our next project will be repairing window and door casings to better protect the building from the elements. We are also working on repairing the old "apartment", which had water damage. It will be decorated as the Science Room and available for long-term rental. These are our plans for now; of course, there are always maintenance needs that pop up that require more immediate needs. :)
Our preservation efforts also include documenting histories of our community, and we will continue collecting stories and memorabilia to share. We are running a program from September 2025 - February 2026 called Documenting the Past for the Future: A Community Storytelling Project.
Thank you for your support as we work to honor the heritage of this building and our community!
