Getting Here

The Recess Inn is off the beaten path, nine miles north of New Cambria. It's one of the prettiest drives in the state, and we invite you to take in the beautiful country scenery.

 

From US Highway 36, take the New Cambria exit (between Macon and Brookfield). Drive all the way through New Cambria, continuing onto State Highway 149. Take your time on the drive, as there are many hills and curves. After nine miles, you'll reach Ethel and cross the railroad tracks. Continue to the top of the hill, and turn left at the T to continue on State Highway 149/Main Street. You'll see the Ethel Community Church first, and the Recess Inn is located just west of it, on the right.

It is also possible to reach the Recess Inn by taking country backroads from Kirksville, La Plata, and Atlanta off US Highway 63. Also a beautiful drive, it is recommended that GPS is used due to the many turns.
